Help Us Choose A Furlough Vehicle

We've spent the first several weeks of our furlough looking for a vehicle to purchase. After chasing down numerous leads and driving lots of miles in borrowed vehicles (thanks to generous relatives and friends), it appears that our search is over. We have found a van that will meet our needs and hope to pick it up within a few days. Meanwhile, while downloading some pictures from our camera the other day, I had to laugh at how many vehicles I have taken a picture of this past month. I guess that's to be expected with vehicles "on the brain." So since we haven't given the van owner any money yet, I thought perhaps I should take a poll and see which vehicle you think we should get. After looking through my pictures, here are my five favorites:

Last week, I stepped out of our hotel room one morning to go and preach a Christian school chapel. I saw this limo waiting outside the hotel. I laughed inside and said, "Well, bless their hearts...look what they sent to fetch me."

The Hummer Limo

Then I looked directly in front of the limo and laughed even harder at what was parked in front of it (pictured below).

The Camper

We also recently saw a really cool army dune buggy parked in front of a military surplus store. This vehicle gets my son's vote.

The Dune Buggy
We went out to Ironwood Christian Camp to check out a vehicle and came across this one which might work.

The Stagecoach
But if we want to save the planet, maybe we should go with this people-powered vehicle!

The Hotel Trolley
 Which one gets your vote?

  1. Daniel - the Hummer Limo
    Andrew - the Dune Buggy
    Sarah - the Hummer Limo
    Caleb - the Dune Buggy
As you can see, my kids are a mix of "cool" and "expensive". Sarah wanted you to know that you won't get anywhere very fast with the Hotel Trolley.
Andrew wanted to make sure you knew that you won't get anywhere without horses for the stage coach.
I personally think I vote for the Hummer Limo too. Very stylish and roomy.
We love you guys and are praying that you get your vehicle soon.

  2. Since I really enjoy a vehicle that is fun to drive, I would vote for the Dune Buggy. However, I also know from experience that you need a lot of trunk space for the projector, display, luggage--not to mention the family. So I guess the Dune Buggy won't work--too bad.
